Moeraki - Monro Beach
| An idyllic trout and salmon fishing spot. Rods and boats may be hired
and whitebait nets are available in season for campers and guests at the
fishing lodge to catch their breakfasts. Those with a penchant for salt
water may surfcast from the beach, about 30 minutes' walk through the bush
along the Monro Beach track. From the bridge across the Moeraki River, the
lake's outlet, is a magnificent view««« of the mountains looming above the
forests, occasionally perfectly reflected in the waters of the lake. |
