Tummelisa TU 1 fighter-trainer

Brought to the show from Sweden by owner and pilot Mikael Carlson, this aircraft is a faithful reproduction of those first built in 1919. The aircraft served with the Swedish Air Force in the inter-war period until 1935, and was powered by a Thulin rotary engine. Mikael's aircraft is powered by a 80 hp license built Le Rhone rotary engine. Little known in New Zealand, it had its debut at Wanaka in 2001.
