Ohau B & C power stations
|
Ohau B & C are twiin stations with the same capacity and similar generating
equipment.
 |
Located on a canal linking Lake
Ruataniwha with the much larger Lake Benmore. |
 |
Fully commissioned during
1984/85. |
 |
A labyrinth weir located
downstream from Ohau B station allows water to be diverted into the Ohau
River which runs parallel to the canal. This means Ohau B can operate if
Ohau C needs to be taken out of service. |
 |
From Ohau C, water flows into
Lake Benmore which feeds to the power stations in the mid Waitaki system.
